Saving Household Wells in Whatcom County

To put it simply, last fall, the Supreme Court made a decision to take away property owners’ right to drill wells. Doug Erickson, the Washington State Senator is supporting a bill that will help in reestablishing the use of household wells here in Whatcom County. There was a hearing held Tuesday before the Senate Ways and Means Committee that made quite a compelling case for property owners and household wells. Various property owners in Whatcom County voiced their devastation at the hearing, and it’s important for us all to stay informed on the matter! This is an issue that effects almost every citizen in Whatcom County whether they realize it or not.
