Silver Lake Park gives you the best Whatcom County has to offer from the Lakeside Cabins to the Black Mountain Trail. The park is located 40 minutes east of Bellingham on the Mount Baker Highway, so you can enjoy a beautiful getaway without ever leaving the county! There are four campsite areas each with unique accommodations and access to trails. The Lakeside Lodge is available for overnight stays featuring a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, spacious living room, three bedrooms, and more. Other housing options include the seven cabins that also overlooking the lake. From the trailhead to the lookout, this is trail offers beautiful scenery, logging artifacts, and the perfect place to enjoy fresh air and get some exercise in. Once you reach the dome at the very top, you can see the Skagit River flats, Lummi and Orcas Island, Samish Bay, and the Olympic Mountains. It truly is well worth the challenge!
