Home Sales Report
In the October 5, 2010 Northwest Multiple Listing Service news release, industry veterans are encouraged by the direction the real estate market is trending. The supply of inventory is now at a 6 month level, which is a positive indicator of a stabilizing market. Also, many wise buyers are taking advantage of the buying trifecta: extremely low interest rates, a large selection of homes and competitive pricing. Homes that are in good condition, in a good location and priced fairly are selling. The outlook for the remaining months of 2010 expects to be “somewhat fickle” due in part to the uncertainty of the pace of economic recovery and the unknowns regarding the upcoming election, but on the whole, things are looking up for the real estate market.

The graph below shows the number of For Sale listings, Sold listings and Pending listings in Lynden. As you can see, July 2010 shows a dip in sales from the last few months, but overall 2010 sales have improved over 2009.

Thank you for visiting my blog! As we approach the end of another summer, I wanted to take an opportunity to thank all of you who participated in, sponsored or volunteered at our annual Curt Maberry Memorial Classic 3 on 3 basketball tournament in conjunction with Lynden’s Raspberry Festival. The tournament in July was a great success and a fitting way to remember and honor our friend Curt Maberry for everything he did to help the community, especially kids.
I also want to thank those of you who stopped by the Muljat Group North booth at the Northwest Washington Fair last week.
